I am going to do a series of articles regarding Zoneminder.
Zoneminder is a Network Video Recording software to monitor your home.
I will go through installing and configuring Zoneminder with a USB camera and an IP camera and some other things too.
I have posted on my other blog on the machine I am going to use.
The machine itself cost $69 plus tax, but I did have to add a hard drive and I had a 500GB one I could use and had an extra 4GB RAM module to bring it up to 8GB, so here is a recap of the specs
- CPU Intel Pentium J3710 at 1.60GHz
- 8GB RAM
- 500GB SATA
- OS CentOS 7.8
- It will have a LAMP stack (Linux Apache MariaDB PHP)
This system is not that powerful, but should be enough to get you started.
I will first setup a USB Webcam as the first monitor, and will add an IP camera after that as well.
This post will grow with links below as I add more instructions.
